Grandparents Rights and Visitation

Grandparents have rights, too. Not everyone realizes this, but Kentucky specifically allows grandparents the right to see their grandchildren. Often, a divorce will become so bitter that the struggle between the parents over their children pushes the grandparents into the background. But children need the support of their grandparents, as well as their parents.

Grandparents often can provide a more experienced view of the world and help children work through the extreme emotions of divorce and custody issues. Whether it’s picking them up from school, spending an afternoon or a weekend away, or just an hour or two a week at a park or a movie, the family connection with grandparents can be an enormous boost to a child’s development.
